Dr. Randall Hansen's Teaching Innovations
I am a big believer in "added-value" experiences in my classes. That statement should
not come as a surprise since I am both a marketer and an educator. I am always
thinking of ways to increase the educational experiences of my students. This
section of my site is dedicated to these teaching innovations.
Teaching Innovations
- The Marketing Career Journal:
The Marketing Career Journal is a self-enhancing
12-assignment project that principles of marketing students complete over the course of a semester.
The journal takes each student through a self-guided journey or self-discovery and enlightenment, based
on sound self-marketing and career development principles.
- The Integrated Marketing Communications Program:
The Integrated Marketing Communications
Program (IMCP) is a semester-long project where advertising and promotion management students develop,
organize, and manage a student-run advertising and promotions agency that develops a detailed marketing
audit and integrated marketing plan for a client organization.
- Speed Teaming: Speed Teaming is
an innovative method for placing students into teams for class projects that is fun, informative, and extremely
easy to implement. Speed Teaming gives control over team selection to the students -- while they learn
a valuable lesson in the power of first impressions and the importance of asking and answering the right questions.
